How To Choose The Perfect Bracelet Size

Posted by Katie Gowers on

The way we shop is changing but one of the challenges of shopping online is choosing the right sizes.

Bracelets are one of my favourite accessories. They're an instant boost to any outfit.

But, when you come to add one to your basket and are faced with different lengths, how do you know which to choose?

I'm here to help!

Today I'm sharing my top tips for choosing the right bracelet size so you have a comfortable fit that is safe and secure.

The only challenge remaining will be deciding which bracelet to choose (or am I the only one who wants one of everything?!).

Start by measuring your wrist

Start by measuring the size of your wrist. You want the measuring tape to sit comfortably around your wrist. Don't squeeze too tight or leave it too loose - we want to know the actual size of your wrist.

Top tip: if you wear a watch measure your wrist where you want the bracelet to sit (your wrist might be slightly wider the higher up your arm you get).

What if I don't have a measuring tape?

No problem, you can measure the size of your wrist using a piece of string or cord (remember it should be comfortable and not too loose or tight).

The string in the image above is a little bit too loose (turns out, it's very difficult to photograph yourself measuring your own wrist) but hopefully you get the idea.

And then, measure the length with a ruler.

Determine the perfect bracelet length

Add two centimetres to the length you measured for your wrist.

This allows some room for the bracelet to be comfortable - you don't want it to be too tight as you move around.

Then choose the bracelet length on offer that is the next biggest from this length.

Top tip: If you want your bracelet to be particularly loose add 3 or 4 centimetres, but be careful that it isn't so loose it slides over your hand and is at risk of being lost.

For example

My wrist is 16 cm

To find my minimum length for comfort I add two centimetres = 18 cm

My bracelets come in 16.5 cm , 18.5 cm and 20.5 cm options

So I would choose an 18.5 cm bracelet (which fits just right).
